Friday, November 26

We certainly hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was, we have so many blessings to be thankful for. In fact we celebrated 2 days. Yesterday we went to Loretta's son Dave's down the road where we were joined by all members of their family that are in Tennessee. Great food and a good time. Daughter Sharon's family has several members working in the health care field. Her husband worked a double shift yesterday so some of his co-workers could celebrate with their families. So we celebrated here today with about 20 in attendance. As usual, Diane (Sharon's sister-in-law) prepared way too much food. I am stuffed. But it was delicious and great to be with family at this time.

We have had a lot of rain here as that is what fall brings, HI. Wednesday we took grandchildren Scott and Michelle out for supper in Lawrenceburg. The road was flooded out of here, but water was not too deep to pass through. But it sure makes a muddy mess of the area in front of our 5th wheel where we usually park our truck.

Deer season is now open here and Bill has been given a nice buck by one of his co-workers. Dave has been hunting some and this morning bagged 2 small button bucks. They are classified as does, of which one can harvest 3 per day. He could only get 2 bucks during the whole season which lasts almost a month. The deer herd is way too large and they are trying to reduce it. We saw several this afternoon including at least one nice buck while taking those 2 to the processing plant. Also we see lots of wild turkeys almost every day. As of now hunting for them is limited, but wouldn't be surprised to see large bag limits in the near future there also.

Had chilly frosty mornings the past 2 days, but sun came out and it was nice but nippy. Think that makes 4 frosty mornings, but as of now no snow, HI.

We went to the Doctor's office for lab tests this week for our upcoming physical exams. And of course did some shopping and visited a favorite restaurant whille in town.

Guess that gets up to date,

Well, haven't a lot to report this time. I did have to give up on the back last Thursday and went to my chiropractor. He made an adjustment which didn't do much for the pain. So on Monday I went to our family physician. He prescribed an antibiotic and pain medication. Guess the pain was not a strained back. The medication got me back on track and I am now feeling fine. Otherwise not much going on. Doing some work on my photos in the computer and a few chores around here.

Except a couple of frosty mornings, the weather has been mostly great. Rains have pretty well taken the leaves off the trees but enough color still showing to make for beautiful scenery. Yesterday we went for propane and lunch and took a ride through the countryside while we were out.

Hoping all are well, and wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Tuesday November 9

Well, one thing that has been nice here lately has been the weather. Beautiful fall days, but the trees are getting pretty well bare. Nights have been chilly, but only one morning with frost. So we are enjoying that.

A lovely day for church Sunday then in the evening we took Bill and Sharon (Loretta's daughter) to one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in Lawrenceburg for dinner. The instrument panel in our truck has been acting up off and on. It is a complex electronic device and I have tried several things such as cleaning connectors, adding a ground wire and checking for poor solder joints. Each time it work well for a while then quit. So last week, I ordered a new module. It arrived yesterday and it took me about an hour to move all the instruments, bezels and lamps into the new module. I should have done it on the counter in the trailer instead of the bed of the truck as my back is now letting me know the error of my ways. But it seems to be working now. Of course only time will tell, HI.

Sharon had to visit her doctor regarding her knee replacement today near Nashville. So Loretta rode along with her. I took the truck for a test drive and stopped at Walls Lumber in Campbellsville for some supplies. They informed me that dinner was being served at the convienence store nearby. It was meatloaf (which I love), black eyed peas and corn for $3.5o. So I stoppped by and found it was more than I could eat and included a large piece of cake also. The whole thing including a large glass of ice tea totaled $4.68 including tax. Couldn't beat tht with a club.
When I went out, I saw the farrier was shoeing the horses at Dave's (Loretta's son next door). So on the return trip, I stopped to find he was on vacation so had a nice visit. He is doing some black powder deer hunting, but hasn't connected yet. Had an opportunity but the gun misfired and another time saw a large buck but the buck saw him first. Sure he will be getting someting soon. Then when I got home, I decided to put the ice pack on my aching back which helped some. But won't be surprised if a trip to the chiropractor isn't in the offing.
Take care YA"ALL hear.

Saturday November 6

Not a very exciting week here. Sunday was a day away for our minister, so we had Sunday School, announcements, some singing and scriptures, but no sermon. Afterwards we went out for some shopping and dinner. Of course there were trips to Star Therapy in Columbia for Loretta and Sharon. They congratulated Loretta on her progress, but told her to keep up on her exercises.

She saw her surgeon on Thursday and he said No More Therapy and she didn't have to come back to see him either. It rained a good share of the week, so where I park our truck is a muddy mess. But it cleared up yesteray and if we get some more sunshine it will dry up. This morning I woke to a frosty countryside. But it warmed up into the mid 60's later.

David and Kathy (Loretta's son), came by to invite us to stop by a park in Pulaski where their motorcycle club was having an event to support the developement of the Trail of Tears Intepretive Center. That is in recognization of when the Indians in the southeast were gathered together and forced to walk to Oklahoma. This is on the trail they took.

Afterwards we went to Texas T Campground for propane. We stopped in Lynnville for a snack and a stop at the Lynnville Flea Market to pick up a prize that we had won during the open house last weekend.

Guess that is all that we can report at this time - SORRY
